In addition, among many rich and diverse stories, unique natural landscapes, and cultural history of Greater Tobermory area, the town is also well-known as ‘Capital of only fresh water Scuba Diving and Snorkeling Activities in the World’, where you can dive and snorkel in the most incredible pristine clear waters of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. The thrill of diving the shipwrecks of Tobermory and spectacular underwater scenery are countless adventures and the beauty of North Bruce Peninsula. You’ll discover and explore over 20 shipwrecks, some of which sank more than 100 years ago!
CANAM LAKE HOUSE is surrounded by the flora and fauna of North Bruce Peninsula and this area was once covered by a shallow tropical sea teaming with crustaceans, corals and mollusks much like Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. There are almost forty-one species of Orchids that grow in the North Bruce Peninsula, making this spectacular place the Orchid capital of Canada. The Yellow Lady Slipper exists in abundance in our North Bruce Peninsula. Furthermore, the Bruce’s most famous wildflower, the Alaska Rein Orchid grows quite commonly in dry evergreen forests right at the Cyprus Lake campground that is almost 3-5 km from our CANAM LAKE HOUSE. CANAM LAKE HOUSE is situated at a very centralized location. CANAM LAKE HOUSE is approximately 5 minutes of drive to Singing Sand Beach, 10-15 minutes of drive to Sand Beach at Dunks Bay, is less than 10 minute drive to Cyprus Lake, Cameron Lake, Emmett Lake, and Grotto.
Drive 10-15 minutes to Tobermory town and you can take a boat tour to visit the Fathom Five Island (including Flower Pot Island – the biggest tourist attraction during summers). You can also visit Manitoulin Island by taking a Chi-Cheemaun ferry.
You can reach within 10-15 minutes to Georgian Bay side of the Peninsula where you can spend whole day being mesmerized by sunrise, and crystal clear blue-green water. Pack up the beach toys and the lawn chairs and spend the day with your feet in the cool crystal waters of Georgian Bay. The shoreline here is perfect for younger children, gradual entry and a sandy bottom makes this beach appealing for everyone. You can explore the tradition town and cities of Ferndale, Lion’s Head, Wiarton, Owen Sound, and others within the radius of 0.5 to 2 hours’ drive from CANAM LAKE HOUSE.

House Description
A two levels / floors peaceful and comfortable home space of over 1700 sq.ft. with 3 bedrooms for maximum of 4-6 people (including kids of any age) accommodation. Through CANAM LAKE HOUSE backyard you can watch the beaut iful sights and sounds of Lake Huron. The beautiful sunny living and dining rooms are overlooking Lake Huron. We have several outdoor seating areas for relaxing and enjoying your morning coffee surrounded by trees and sunlight. Enjoy evenings around the bonfire, where you can gaze at clear, starry skies. The cottage is located only 5 km away from the village of Tobermory, which is known for its many shops, restaurants, and pubs. Take a cruise over the shipwrecks on a glass bottom boat or take a hike along the Bruce Trail.
This historical house was built in 1982 and was renovated in 1990s.
Once you will be our guest, you’ll feel home with our simple, traditional and modern European, Canadian, and American touch and taste of living style & flavor of color and feel. Our CANAM LAKE HOUSE is surrounded by apple, birch, maple, and cedar trees with full feel of privacy and serenity.
CANAM LAKE HOUSE provides impeccable comforts and delights of convenience. The good looks of custom kitchen with appliances assist from snacks to supper and serves well by the eating bar, stunning countertops. In the living area you will find a couch, and surrounding the 55" television with cable and Blu-Ray player. A wall of gorgeous windows provides a view of the grassy backyard towards the Huron Lake. Enjoy family friends’ get-together to watch evening sky or just enjoy solitude on deck. Take advantage of every pleasant day with the patio. You will enjoy the warm and charming atmosphere! Short drive to town, shopping, Bruce Peninsula Park and sand beaches. This is one of an amazing house in Tobermory to stay and enjoy vacation.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, stove, fridge, and oven. There are lots of cupboards and plenty of counter space. There is a separate kitchen table to enjoy morning breakfast or quick snacks. A separate more formal dining area is an adjacent to the kitchen; it provides a table that seats six people comfortably. There are three bedrooms in the cottage. The master bedroom has a queen bed, and the other two bedrooms (one located near master bedroom and another one on the main ground floor with a separate entrance) have double beds. Outside the cottage in the backyard your children will enjoy the huge open green space. Bring your badminton rackets and net and let the kids enjoy a sunny day in the backyard. There is a fire pit to make a bonfire near the cottage for guests to enjoy evenings.
There is a propane BBQ available for your use on a deck. Enjoy a home cooked meal outside at the patio table with six chairs (extra chairs available if needed). There is a view of the backyard area from this deck and it is private from the roadside of the cottage.
